Pride Parade Tel Aviv
'This Pride is all about love. Love for each other. We give love to everyone. Hopefully you will do the same. Because that's how you make the world a little better.'
The theme: 'This year, the community makes history.' And history they made, with last year 200.000 marchers, last Friday no less than 250.000 people attending the Pride Parade Tel Aviv, including 30.000 people from other countries. It's the biggest event of its kind in the region.
'I am bisexual (in the picture left) and my friend is heterosexual. We believe everyone should be able to experience love in whatever way. We are here today to give people the love they might not have experienced in a long time. I share my love with everyone.'
'We are married for 22 years now. We had to travel to Boston, USA to get that done. It was the best choice we made together. We would have preferred to marry in Israel, but that is still not possible. We would like to see that everyone in Israel could marry in their own country, that is why we march here.'
'The sign reads: 'my daughter is a lesbian. So what!?' We are mothers who come together with other parents of gay or lesbian children. We want to show that we are proud of our children!'
'In the future we would like to marry a woman. That's who we are, and we find that to be very normal. Unfortunately, the government won't allow us to. We don't understand why, because it is the only way we know.'
'It is so cool to walk here. I feel really proud that I can be myself in all freedom. It doesn't matter what someone looks like or how they act. In this place you are accepted.'
'This Pride is all about love. Love for each other. We give love to everyone. Hopefully you will do the same. Because that's how you make the world a little better.'
'We are here just as friends. This party is so, so cool. All these people here share the same. As a country you cannot deny that. We would want to see that all people are allowed to marry and have children. Everyone should be able to be happy.'
'We have been together for a little under a year and this is our first Pride together. That is why this Pride is so special for us. We really enjoy it! The party is so gigantic and everyone is happy. We feel at home here, because all around you, you see women with women. That makes our hearts overflow with joy.'
